Appointments kick off comeback

Daventry Town have started bouncing back after voluntarily dropping out of the EVO-STIK Northern Premier League.

Without a manager since the departure of Darran Foster, officials at Communications Park have named Arron Parkinson and Andy Marks as their new joint bosses.

Northampton-born Parkinson is no stranger to Daventry fans, having made over 200 appearances in the club's purple while Marks is a former Cogenhoe United manager.

The Football Association have confirmed that Daventry are returning to the United Counties League and will kick off in UCL Division One next season after switching from the the EVO-STIK League Southern two years ago in the FA's annual summer shake-up of the Non-League pyramid.

After announcing their intention to drop back into Step 5, United finished second from bottom in the EVO-STIK NPL First Division South table.
