Archie Jones makes Spalding United return

Former Peterborough United midfielder Archie Jones has joined Spalding United following his release from Isthmian League Premier Division side Bishop’s Stortford.

The 20-year-old returns to the club having spent time on loan at Sir Halley Stewart Field last season.

During his time playing for Bishop’s Stortford, he made 28 appearances, scoring three times.

“I’m really happy to be here," Jones said. "I enjoyed my time here during my loan last season and I’m looking forward to the start of the season. I can’t wait to get going."

Spalding boss Brett Whaley added: “I’m delighted to have Archie back at the club.

“He did really well for us during his brief loan last season, despite only being 75% fit. He will be really influential for us this season and we’ll see his true ability.”
