Army of volunteers thanked by boss

Marcus Newell will have the full backing of fans when the Owls kick-off their EVO-STIK League campaign.

The EVO-STIK League East club's manager, pictured, was the toast of supporters on social media on Tuesday after sending a message of thanks to the army of volunteers who've been working throughout the summer to prepare their newly revamped Linden Club home for the 2018-19 campaign.

Taking to Twitter ahead of the arrival of Spalding United on the opening day, a grateful Newell told the Lincolnshire club's supporters: "I'd just like to say a massive thank you to all the volunteers at Clee Town who are doing a great job behind the scenes. The work you do doesn't go unnoticed and myself and the players really appreciate the work you do. #owls."
