Bell-Toxtle looking up for Grantham

Grantham Town midfielder Fernando Bell-Toxtle says they are looking at the top half after their flirtation with relegation last season.

The Gingerbreads were play-off finalists the season before, but found themselves in a relegation battle last term, eventually finishing just two points clear of relegated Marine.

Bell-Toxtle told the club’s official website: “Pre-season has gone well. There’s a good vibe and we have a strong squad together this year.

“As you can see from the results and the togetherness on the pitch there’s a lot more stability this season.

“Last year was hard as you didn’t know who you were going to be playing with each week, but we have a good dressing room with a good blend of youth and experience here. I think we will have a successful season.”

Bell-Toxtle joined Grantham permanently in the summer, having previously been on loan from Basford United.

He added: “Obviously we all have our opinions, but I think we can do very well this year.

“Like I said, we have a good mix of youth and experience in the squad and I think we can definitely finish in the top half of the table, and hopefully even make the play-offs.”
