Benjamin bags debut goal

Veteran striker Shane Benjamin marked his Grantham Town debut with a goal away at Nantwich Town.

Benjamin, 38, joined the Gingerbreads from Hednesford Town at the back end of last week to add goals to their side.

He brings vast experience to the club, having played for several clubs in the Midlands including Stourbridge, Shepshed Dynamo and Stafford Rangers, as well as Stratford Town and Nuneaton.

Manager Paul Rawden said: "We need points and we need goals. He's got a goals wherever he's been. He scored in Hednesford's defeat to Warrington in February. He'll help Jordan, Sam and Akeel."

Benjamin scored a second half equaliser in Saturday's visit to Nantwich in the EVO-STIK League Premier Division.
