Bennett is second summer signing

By David Watters

Buxton manager Martin McIntosh has made his second signing of the summer for next season's EVO-STIK Northern Premier League campaign with the capture of attacking midfielder Lee Bennett from Shaw Lane Aquaforce.

After making experienced former Doncaster and Hartlepool stopper Jan Budtz his first new recruit following his release from Gainsborough Trinity, the Bucks boss added Bennett to the squad he is assembling at Silverlands for the 2016-17 EVO-STIK NPL Premier Division season this week.

The 25-year-old, pictured signing for McIntosh, kicked off his career at Lincoln City before enjoying two spells playing in Sweden with Friska Viljor either side of turning out for Ossett Albion. Spells at Frickley Athletic, Glasshoughton Welfare, Ossett Town, Athersley Recreation and Pontefract Collieries followed before Bennett joined Shaw Lane last term and helped the Barnsley-based club reach the EVO-STIK NPL First Division South play-off final as runners-up.
