Carlton Town's 3-1 win over Chasetown last weekend turned out to be extra special for Millers-mad Dean Gripton after he told club chairman Mick Garton before kick-off that he'd sponsor the club's next match in the competition if they could get through the preliminary round.
The devoted supporter had been weighing up options to celebrate his personal milestone and delighted officials at Stoke Lane say he's now booked their entire corporate suite for 20 guests to enjoy the first round qualifying clash on Saturday 29 October before moving everyone upstairs to their sports bar to party late into the night with 30 more members of his friends and family!
A Millers spokesman said: "Dean had been deciding on a way to celebrate his 50th birthday and was desperate for Carlton to win the game so he could celebrate in style and support his team at the same time."
