Blues crown annual five-a-side kings

Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Leek Town are hailing the success of their annual five-a-side tournament.

Sunday's event was played on four pitches at the First Division South club's Harrison Park and attracted 20 teams this season.

Successful Sunday leagues outfit Elmos won the cup competition with B.R.A. taking the runners-up spot. The tournament's secondary plate competition was won by Ball Haye Green Veterans with The Blue Mugs finishing as runners-up.

A Blues spokesman said: "Leek Town would like to thank R Bestwick and Sons for sponsoring the tournament, all the teams and players for taking part, the referees and all who helped with the organisation and running of the day."
