Board naming new chairman

Interim chairman Jon Eels should be confirmed as the permanent successor to Andy Wain at EVO-STIK Northern Premier League Leek Town on Thursday night.

The Blues' board of directors - re-elected en-bloc when the First Division South club held its AGM last Thursday - are expected to back Eels when they meet at Harrison Park.

Wain stood down as chairman after seven years at the helm three weeks ago, citing his increasing business and personal commitments. He is carrying on as a director of the club and also continuing as a director of the EVO-STIK Northern Premier League.

* The Blues have honoured three of the club’s stalwarts by bestowing life membership on them for their outstanding contribution to the club. The appointments of steward John Reeves, football secretary Brian Wain and press officer Mike Cope were ratified at Leek’s AGM.
