Brown was never going to give up!

Despite being rock bottom of the First Division North table and without a single point from 26 consecutive defeats in all competitions before Tuesday night's 2-2 draw at Witton Albion's NetDec Stadium, the 46-year-old refused to roll over on Sunday in a major feature on the paper's website.

Former Wythenshawe Town boss Brown, the club's fourth manager of the season, was interviewed alongside an equally optimistic Millers chairman Ray Coverley. Together, they are targeting another 'great escape' after last summer's reprieve from the drop in the FA's annual shake-up of the Non-League pyramid.

Brown said: “We’re not afraid of anybody. We’ll give it our all. They’re a great bunch of players – they want to play for the shirt and nothing else.”

After being labelled as the worst team in Britain, former Millers player and manager Coverley, 65, told the paper's website that he believes the spirit around Church Lane will play a huge role if do go on to survive.

He said: “People ask me if I have thought about packing it in, given the results, but we can’t just give up. We’ve enjoyed the good times so we’ve got to stick it out during the bad times.”
