Casswell brings in another

Leek Town update, by Michael Cope

Leek Town boss Lee Casswell unveiled his fifth recent signing after defender Nathan Bullock joined the club in time to be added to the squad for the trip to Loughborough Dynamo on Saturday.

The 18-year old central defender has signed on work experience terms in an initial one-month deal from League Two side Burton Albion.

Bullock was with Stoke City for five years from aged eleven to sixteen before joining The Brewers where he is in the second year of a two year scholarship.

He was quickly into action after starting the game on the bench at Loughborough Dynamo replacing the injured Ricky Bridge after just 11 minutes of the game.

Better news on injury front
When defender Ricky Bridge limped out of the game at Loughborough on Saturday after only 11 minutes it looked as though the former youth team player had done serious damage after taking a knock just above the ankle.

However, an X-ray has revealed only severe bruising and he now joins fellow defender Nick Ward at the physio’s door looking for treatment.

Long term injury victim Dan Cope is now nearing full fitness after a second 60-minute spell playing for Blue Mugge on Sunday during which he found the net.

Meanwhile, winger Richard Minor is recovering at home following knee surgery carried out on Saturday morning after his appointment was brought forward by almost two weeks.

More player News
Young defender Nathan Bullock sat on the bench at Loughborough for just 11 minutes before making his debut when he was sent on to replace injury victim Ricky Bridge.

The 18-year old scholar from Burton Albion went on to give a good account of himself alongside his former Brewers’ team-mate Aden Johnson.

Nike Academy striker Ross Farran, who joined the club at Christmas after training at Macclesfield Town made his debut as a 78-minute substitute replacing Ash Woolliscroft in the home defeat against Kidsgrove.

Meanwhile, Dan Cope got in another game on the way to recovery this time with Sunday league side Blue Mugge where he netted his first goal of the season whilst midfielder Jordan White played 70 minutes at Stone Dominos.

Leek go into Tuesday’s home game against Lincoln United boosted by the return of midfielder Christian Millar who has missed the last three games due to family holiday commitments.

After missing the trip to Loughborough on Saturday Ben Nixon will also return to the squad after recovering from illness.

Unfortunately, after waiting patiently before breaking into the team at New Mills on Boxing Day, striker Tim Grice will miss the game against Lincoln United due to having four wisdom teeth removed.
