Champions reward their heroes

Hot-shot Ben Haseley and local lad Levi Reid were the chief winners when EVO-STIK Northern Premier League First Division South champions Stafford Rangers celebrated the title and promotion at their end of season awards night.

While the Marston Road club's 'Players' Player of the Year' and 'Directors' Player of the Year' trophies went to Reid, Haseley, who joined Rangers at the start of the season before banging in 22 goals on the way to the title, picked up both the chairman's and supporters' accolades.

Club captain Christian Dacres collected the manager's 'Player of the Year' gong and long-serving defender Wayne Daniel wasn't forgotten. Now retired after making his final and 453rd appearance in April, the veteran was presented with a special award to recognise his long and loyal contribution to the Rangers cause.

Stafford Rangers secretary Robbie Mullin didn't leave the end of season event with the club's jubilant fans empty-handed either after he was named 'Clubman of the Year'.
