Change of chairman for next term

Paul Ratcliffe has been unveiled as the new chairman of EVO-STIK League Newcastle Town.

Ratcliffe returned to a role he'd previously held on Sunday night following a major reshuffle of boardroom posts at the Lyme Valley Stadium 24 hours after the end of the season.

Ratcliffe's appointment followed Jeff Harrall's decision to step down as chairman after the final day of the 2017-18 campaign on Saturday to take up the role of financial director at the EVO-STIK League South club.

Newcastle Town secretary Ray Tatton said: "The club wishes to thank Jeff for all his efforts in the post of chairman. Paul Ratcliffe will once again become chairman with Gavin Appleby moving to vice-chairman. Paul will oversee an important period for the club focusing on further development of the club's infrastructure both on and off the field."

One of Harrall's last duties before standing down was to honour captain James Askey on making his landmark 300th appearance for the club in Saturday's 2-0 win over Belper Town. Harrell is pictured presenting the skipper with a silver platter before kick-off at The M Club Stadium.
