Christmas plans for Marine

Club announce three day soccer school and money raising fancy dress.

Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Marine have announced that they are to stage a special Christmas soccer camp at the Arriva Stadium during the festive school holidays.

The three day soccer camp is to take place from Wednesday 28th to Friday the 30th of December between the hours of 10:00am to 3:00pm each day for children from Crosby and the surrounding areas aged 5-11.

This is the third soccer camp to be staged at the Arriva Stadium since the formation of Maine FC Coaching in the Community in the summer. The camp will provide children with the basic skills of football and will be delivered by qualified coaches from Marine’s first team players and staff including manager Kevin Lynch. The coaching style will help improve the children’s skills and techniques in a fun and rewarding way and as with the previous camps will end with a presentation of certificates and prizes but this time with a Christmas theme.

Enrolment forms can be downloaded on the www.marinefc.com website or can be collected from the Clubrooms any evening.

Marine Chairman Paul Leary said:

“We continue to expand our community coaching to local primary school aged children. The use of the Arriva Stadium provides a tremendous opportunity for both boys and girls to experience football coaching in a stadium environment. This very special Christmas soccer camp, with the direct involvement of our Manager Kevin Lynch, will be as enjoyable for him and our players delivering the coaching as it will be for the children. I have no doubt that the limited number of places will soon be filled.”

The club also announced that two club members will be attending the Rushall Olympic v Marine FC game on Saturday 10th December dressed up in Christmas outfits.

This is the last away game before Christmas, and in true spirit Club Secretary Richard Cross and Matchday Volunteer Beckie Eustace, will be dressing up for the festivities as Father Christmas and a Fairy.

Marine have never played Rushall Olympic, so to get into the Christmas spirit, it was decided that the pair would go to the game dressed up.

In addition, Richard, will do all his matchday duties, including teamsheets and liaison with Rushall Olympic & matchday officials in costume.

========

The Club would like to thank the officials of Rushall Olympic FC who have kindly agreed to the pair collecting loose change and donations for the Marine FC Floodlight Appeal on the day.

The floodlights at Marine FC are 35 years old and are due to be replaced in the summer of 2012. Earlier on this season, the club suffered the third floodlight fire to hit the Club in the last two years. This is now a critical situation for Marine FC to raise the funds as soon as possible for new floodlights.

If anyone would like to make a donation to the appeal then cheques should be made payable to "Marine FC Ground Appeal” and should be sent to: Mr RG Kewley, 53 Seafield Avenue, Crosby, Liverpool, L23 OTG

If anyone would like to organise a fundraising event for the appeal please contact Club President Jean Pierre Hall on 0151-924-4448
