Clitheroe bring in Guiseley goalkeeper

Clitheroe have announced the signing of experienced goalkeeper Danny Taberner ahead of Monday's game against Widnes.

The 30-year-old arrives at the club after regular number one Hakan Burton picked up a shoulder injury in their recent win at Nantwich Town, with fears that he could be missing for a prolonged period of time.

Taberner enjoyed a fine season in 2022/23 for Runcorn Linnets, picking up numerous club accolades as they reached the Pitching In NPL West Division play-off final before losing out to Workington.

He also won the division's Golden Glove for the number of clean sheets secured.

Taberner joined Northern Premier League side Guiseley earlier this summer but was left out of their matchday squad on the opening weekend and subsequently had his contract cancelled by mutual consent.
