Cowperthwaite stays with Dolly Blues

Lancaster City midfielder Niall Cowperthwaite has signed a contract extension to stay at The Giant Axe.

Cowperthwaite, 28, made 37 appearances as the Dolly Blues put themselves in promotion contention in the Northern Premier League.

He said: “We want to be up there again. This is a great group of lads and the club are keen to strengthen this summer so it all points towards us being in the race for promotion again, that’s the aim and I’m looking forward to getting back out there when football resumes.”

Manager Mark Fell continues to have discussions with existing and new players for the 2020/21 season with more announcements to be made in due course.
