Cumiskey, pictured, was on the touchline alongside Lynch on Monday night at Hyde United when the Seagulls lost a 3-2 thriller in the EVO-STIK NPL's top flight.
Cumiskey famously played alongside Lynch at Vauxhall Motors when they knocked QPR out of the FA Cup in a replay at Loftus Road back in 2002 and then under him for four years at Marine.
Known as 'Wacker', he joined the Mariners in March 2006 and went on to make more than 100 full appearances, scoring more than 50 goals in the process.
After work commitments forced him to leave the Marine Travel Arena in December 2011, he returned to the Premier Division club as assistant manager in 2013.
Former Chesterfield coach Lynch was appointed last week as the successor to Ashley Hoskins at Llanelian Road. On Tuesday, the 40-year-old Merseysider blamed naivety and a lack of concentration for their reverse at the Tigers.
He said: “The last two games have been good for me to assess things. I’ve got an idea now of what we’ve got, what we need and what we need to work on.
"There is not much between the teams in this league from top to bottom and now it`s case of rolling our sleeves up and working hard on the training pitch to get the positive results that I’m sure are only around the corner.”
