Cummings, 22, made a big impact in his first season at Shawbridge, making 33 appearances and scoring four goals.
Manager David Lynch told the club’s official website: “I am delighted Terry has agreed to commit himself to the football club for another year.
“He is an exciting young player with a great attitude who wants to develop and learn the game.
“Terry has all the attributes to step up the leagues and I am really looking forward to working with him.”
Meanwhile, club chairman Lee Sharples has stepped down from the role due to personal reasons.
Long-serving finance director Andrew Jackson will take over as acting chairman while the Blues plan their next moves at board level.
