Curtis Burrows eyeing up successful cup run with Loughborough

By James Gordon

Curtis Burrows says he would enjoy a successful cup run with Loughborough Dynamo in the 2021/22 season.

Burrows joined the Moes in March 2019 from Coalville Town, and has scored 18 goals in 50 competitive appearances for the club so far.

And after recently signing a new deal with the club, the midfielder is hoping he can help with a successful cup run in either the FA Cup or FA Trophy.

He said: “I want to finish as high as possible it’s as simple as that. Myself and the rest of the players will give our all each game and where we deserve to finish, that’s where we’ll be.

“I’m looking forward to pre-season, but more so mid-August when that first competitive game is here. For me that’s something I’ve missed greatly over the last six months, that pure desire to get three points no matter what.

“Obviously the return of fans is great and essential at this level of football, they always add atmosphere to games and hopefully more people can get out there and support their local non-league clubs.

“Personally, I want to chip in with plenty of goals again and be consistent with my performances. I’d also love to have a really good cup run, whether that’s in the FA Cup or the FA Trophy. There is the obvious financial gain for the club but to go far in one of those competitions would be special and can add real value to your season.”

The 24-year-old became the first player to commit their future to the club ahead of the Pitching In Northern Premier League 2021/22 season, and has recently been joined by Tristan Matthews, while manager Lee Attenborough recently made his first summer signing in centre-back Michael Jacklin.

“It was an easy decision really. I feel I’ve got unfinished business,” Burrows said.

“I want a full season with no interruptions and to see what we can achieve both personally and collectively. The club have been terrific with me ever since I came in. The manager, staff, chairman and everyone else have always made me feel appreciated and valued and in-turn I will always give my all with my performances and attitude.

“We have a real togetherness in the squad so I feel it’s important to keep that going. Obviously they’ll be comings and goings just like every other club, I know the gaffer is meticulous when looking at bringing players in, so any new additions will be to benefit the squad and not just to get numbers in for pre-season. I can’t wait to get back into a routine and to be back with the squad every week.”
