Danny Rowe leaves Macclesfield due to health concerns

Macclesfield have announced the departure of forward Danny Rowe - less than a month after first joining the club.

Rowe played four times for the Silkmen in all competitions - including a full 90 minutes in Tuesday night's Cheshire Senior Cup penalty shoot-out victory over Sandbach United.

However, that has proven to be his final appearance in a Macclesfield shirt.

Before his time at the club, Rowe spent much of his career at Fylde and is their all-time leading goalscorer, with 155 goals in 241 appearances.

He went on to feature for Oldham Athletic, Bradford City and Chesterfield before making the move to the Northern Premier League.

A club statement read: "Due to an underlying health condition, Danny felt it was the right decision to depart the football club.

"Everyone at Macclesfield FC would like to thank Danny for his efforts and wish him all the best for the future."
