Danylyk and Donnelly stand down

Appointed at the Marston's Stadium in June as the successors to Charlie Palmer and his touchline team, the duo cited a change in "personal circumstances" for their decision to resign only minutes after beating Peterborough Sports 1-0 in an early season EVO-STIK League South 'six pointer'.

The Nailers, who climbed eight points clear of trouble and into 15h spot before the surprise departure of their management team, paid tribute to former Leek Town boss Danylyk and Donnelly in a statement on their website after initially announcing the news using the club's Twitter account, pictured.

The club said: "Everyone associated with the club would like to thank Anthony and Paul for their efforts and commitment to Belper, wishing them all the best for the future."

Former Nailers midfielder Danylyk also played for Stone Dominoes, Witton Albion and Altrincham and made more than 400 appearances for Leek Town before moving into management at Harrison Park and guiding the Blues to a ninth placed finish in EVO-STIK League South last season.

Donnelly, also Danylyk's assistant at Leek, turned out for Port Vale, Kidsgrove Athletic, Nantwich Town, Stafford Rangers, Stone Dominoes and Witton Albion as a player and won the FA Vase with the Dabbers in 2005.
