Deal lays foundations for success

Prescot Cables are celebrating the signing of a two season sponsorship deal with the big kick-off to the new EVO-STIK League campaign only days away.

Stewart Milne Homes was confirmed as the EVO-STIK League West club's new first team shirt sponsor on Monday as the major housebuilder started working on a development of 68 homes for the region at Callenders Green.

Wanting to engage with the local community, the company approached Cables officials as possible partners in time to ready the club for a first home game of the season at Volair Park at the weekend when Brian Richardson's Liverpool County Cup holders host Trafford.

A team of representatives from the sponsors, pictured with the squad, saw Cables test drive their new traditional amber kit complete with new branding on Saturday when it was unveiled for the first time before a 1-0 win over Stalybridge Celtic and a family fun day at Volair Park.

Prescot Cables director Jamie Weston said: “It is a real coup to have Stewart Milne as the club's sponsors. To have this deal over two years also ensures a level of stability for the club going forward. We look forward to a great partnership with Stewart Milne.”

Lynne Vogel, regional sales manager at Stewart Milne Homes, said: “We are always looking for opportunities to engage with local communities at all our developments. Since work on Callenders Green commenced in May, we have been looking for opportunities in Prescot.

"With the beginning of the football season approaching, working with Prescot Cables seemed like the perfect option. The team look great in their new kit and we wish them the best of luck in the season ahead.”

As well as the first team, Cables also field a reserve team as well as an up and coming youth side nurturing talented locals aged 16 to 18. Run by volunteers, Prescot Cables is the most senior football club in the Knowsley area and a Community Interest Company owned by its fans.

The first phase of homes at Callenders Green is expected to be released in autumn 2018 with the remaining homes expected to be completed by the summer of 2019. House buyers can now reserve their interest with prices for a new home expected to start from circa £169,950 up to £339,950.
