Deal seals stadium name change

Kendal Town unveiled a new stadium naming rights deal at Parkside Road on Saturday before celebrating with victory in the EVO-STIK League.

The Mintcakes announced the signing of a new two year partnership with one of the town's leading chartered accountancy firms, Stables Thompson & Briscoe, before beating Colwyn Bay 2-1 at their home in EVO-STIK League North.

The Cumbrian's ground, pictured, will now be known as the ST&B Accountants Stadium and Kendal Town chairman George Gudgeon told supporters he was delighted with their latest commercial success.

In a lunchtime statement, he said: "We are thrilled that a company with whom we have had a long business relationship is our new stadium sponsor. ST&B accountants have been established in the town since 1930 and have a fantastic reputation."

ST&B director Helen Holmes said: "We value our community and our football club. Being able to help maintain Kendal Town Football Club to provide the highest playing level for male and female players in this area gives us great satisfaction.”
