Bamber Bridge statement

It is with an overwhelming sense of sadness to have to announce the passing away of club president Dennis Allen. Dennis died at his home at 8.00pm on Friday the 24th June after a long period of illness. Everyone at Bamber Bridge Football Club wish to send our heartfelt condolences to Dennis’ wife, Brenda and family. Our thoughts are with you all at this very sad time.

Dennis was a hard working and diligent chairman who served the club well for many years. A popular and most likeable man, he will be sadly missed at Irongate. He was a mighty presence for good about the club and always treated people with the greatest respect.

Dennis was chairman of the club when Bamber Bridge enjoyed its greatest achievement in the 1995-96 season when the team won the championship of the Northern Premier League Premier Division and reached the final of the Lancashire FA Challenge Trophy. Dennis Allen was a massive influence at Bamber Bridge Football Club. May he rest in peace.
