Destiny calling delighted Dabbers!

Nantwich Town are getting ready to host either FC Halifax or Gateshead in one of the biggest games in the EVO-STIK Northern Premier Premier club's history following the draw for the semi-finals of the FA Trophy.

Manager Phil Parkinson and his giant-killing Dabbers squad - 2-1 victors over National League outfit Dover Athletic in their quarter-final at the Weaver Stadium on Saturday - are now awaiting the outcome of the replay between their possible opponents following Monday morning's draw which was broadcast live on talkSPORT's Colin Murray Show.

After being pulled out of the hat at Wembley by journalist Des Kelly and former Sunderland and England defender Micky Gray, Parkinson's troops will host one the National League outfits in the first leg on Saturday 12 March with the away leg a week later on Saturday 19 March.

A late, late Liam Shotton goal earned the Dabbers a place in the last four and £8,000 in prize money at the weekend. Victory next month will see the former FA Vase winners collect another £16,000 and book their berth at the national stadium to face the winners of Wednesday night's replay between The Shaymen and The Heed.

The FA Trophy Final on Sunday 22 March is taking place at Wembley immediately after the FA Vase is played on the first ever Non-League Finals Day and Nantwich Town chairman Tony Davison believes his EVO-STIK Northern Premier League outfit have a great chance of being there for the historic occasion having already dispatched Salford City, King's Lynn, Stourbridge, Bradford Park Avenue, Matlock Town and Stockport County on the way to the last four.

Davison told talkSPORT's listeners: "It is a dream to be involved in the last four and it will be a fantastic day for the club, the players and our fans. Everybody is delighted. We face a difficult tie but we have enjoyed the competition so far and are all looking forward to the occasion."

After the draw, Parkinson, the captain of the Premier Division club's 2006 FA Vase-winning side, admitted to the Crewe Chronicle that he was starting to believe in destiny.

"It feels like it is meant to be, it's 10 years since I was captain and we won the FA Vase, everything feels right I just hope we can go on and get to the final," said Parkinson.

"It'll have to be a good team to stop us, it feels like the writing is on the wall. We don't fear anyone, we respect teams. The moment you start fearing teams is the moment you don't step foot on the pitch. What a great time to be at Nantwich Town. I fancy us against anyone."
