Dulwich Hamlet visit Marine in nostalgic friendly

The two met in the final of the FA Amateur Cup in 1932 at a packed West Ham ground in front of 22,000 spectators with Dulwich winning 7-1 on a very muddy pitch.

The game will take place at the Marine Travel Arena on Saturday July 13, with a 1pm kick-off - admission is £5 adults, concessions £3.

Marine Chairman Paul Leary said: “It is a great milestone to be planning our 125th anniversary this coming season.

"This is something that has to be celebrated and the events planned over the year will in some way acknowledge the many people over the decades who have given so much of their lives to look after Marine Football Club.

"Our founders would be especially proud of what we have now at the Marine Travel Arena.

“I look forward to meeting the officials and supporters of Dulwich Hamlet in what is a very special game for both clubs bringing us together for the first time since that famous day in the amateur cup final at West Ham in 1932.

"I would like to thank the directors of Dulwich Hamlet for accepting our invitation and I am sure that we will all have a great day. ”

The Dulwich Hamlet game is the start of the Club’s plans to celebrate its 125th anniversary this coming season and follows the staging of a 125 launch night to be held in the Clubrooms on Friday 12th July 2019 starting at 8pm.

The launch night is an opportunity for fans to collect their pre-ordered 125 shirts, ties, and dinner tickets in addition to sampling the Mariner’s new 125 cask beer also to be launched that evening. The new 125 home shirt designed by Macron of gold and black halves bearing the 125 logo will be worn for the first time for the Dulwich Hamlet game.
