Dynamic duo return to touchline

The duo, who jointly managed Grantham Town before being reunited at Rainworth Miners Welfare last season, were named on Friday as the successor to Scott Machin.

Former Kettering Town boss Machin, pictured below, quit the Nanpantan Sports Ground ahead of last weekend's action, days after his side's 9-1 thrashing at Chasetown in First Division South.

Former striker and coach Kris Nurse guided Dynamo to a vital home win over Carlton Town last Saturday as caretaker before Robinson and Sucharewycz, pictured last season on the Wrens touchline, secured a 2-0 win at Kidsgrove Athletic on Wednesday night when they took the reins for the first time as interim managers.

In a statement announcing their permanent appointment ahead of the club's trip to Leek Town on Saturday, Loughborough Dynamo chairman Frank Fall thanked Nurse for stepping into the breech and hailed the winning start of the club's new management team in midweek.

Fall said: "Following the resignation of Scott Machin Loughborough Dynamo acted positively and we are delighted to have secured the services of joint managers Ian Robinson and Gary Sucharewycz, with Dan Peacock and Sam Peters forming their coaching team. They have successfully managed Rainworth Miners Welfare and Grantham Town in similar situations.

"The club would like to thank Kris Nurse for his work for Dynamo and getting a squad together for last Saturday's game. We are delighted that the players responded and secured three vital points against Carlton Town, in what turned out be Kris's last game for Dynamo.

"The managers had a busy time preparing for Wednesday's away game at Kidsgrove Athletic but again the players responded brilliantly and secured a deserved 2-0 win.

"Having shown energy and commitment to the cause the new management have already enthused the club and everybody is now looking forward to the next game and hopefully a long and enjoyable spell under our new, and still young, management team."

Machin stood down two months after returning to the First Division South club to succeed former joint bosses Lee Morris and Jason Maguire. Machin led the Poppies to promotion into the EVO-STIK League Southern's Premier Division as Division One Central champions in April after coaching at Dynamo two years ago. Apart from drawing his first game and securing one other stalemate, he had overseen eight defeats in league and cup action.

The versatile Nurse, 29, retired at the end of last season before joining the club's coaching staff and embarking on his coaching badges over the summer. He is also the club's award winning groundsman and was named in 2014 as the Football Association's EVO-STIK NPL Groundsman of the Year.
