Commercial Boost For Wrens

Rainworth MW update

RAINWORTH MW have announced their first important signing of the summer in the shape of a new commercial manager.

The new man on board is Steve Peat, who has already been instrumental in setting up the forthcoming fun day on 9th July featuring a pre-season friendly game against Blue Square Premier neighbours Mansfield Town, as well as securing a friendly date with Notts County on 30th July.

Steve was previously a sponsor of Glapwell FC, and has also had dealings with Hucknall Town during Wrens' joint boss Billy Millar's days at Watnall Road, as well as working alongside Bryan Chambers at Eastwood Town.

Steve said: "I've known Billy Millar a long time and we've always kept in touch, so when Billy suggested to me that I might like to come on board at Rainworth to help raise a bit of money for the club and make the commercial side a little more professional I was pleased to do so.

"I really hadn't realised what a great set-up there is at Rainworth, nor just how much the club has to offer, but I love my football, especially non-league, and am looking forward to helping to keep Rainworth moving forward.

"I have a good knowledge of the local area and local businesses and I hope that that knowledge will help me to raise a lot of money for the club."

Millar and joint boss Lee Wilkinson said they were extremely impressed by Steve's eagerness to become involved with Rainworth and help the club commercially, with Wilkinson describing the appointment as probably the most important one of the summer.
