McIntosh reign comes to an end

Martin McIntosh's reign as manager of EVO-STIK League Buxton is over after six years at the helm.

McIntosh, pictured, parted company with the Bucks on Wednesday after six years at the helm with the club 15th in the EVO-STIK League Premier Division table and 10 points off the play-off spots.

Appointed at Silverlands back in February 2012, McIntosh became the second longest serving manager in the Derbyshire club's history, guiding the Bucks clear of relegation in his first season before overseeing three top 10 finishes in the top flight, including just missing out on the play-offs last term.

The Bucks paid tribute to their outgoing manager in a statement announcing his exit four days after his last game in charge, last Saturday's 2-1 reverse at Barwell.

The club said: "The chairman and directors wish to express their thanks and gratitude to Martin for the job he has done over the past six years, undoubtedly saving 'the Bucks' from relegation in the three months after his arrival in February 2012, developing young players and always acting in a thoroughly professional manner to enhance the club's profile. We wish him well for the future."
