Frickley hold appreciation evening for long-serving Ruth

Ruth stepped down as club secretary in the summer after 20 years in the post, though remains at the club as a volunteer.

Taking place this Saturday, November 23, there will be food and refreshments served on the night, with fundraising also taking place in aid of Cancer Research UK.

A club spokesperson said: "As you may be aware Ruth stepped down as Club Secretary this season. Although she continues to volunteer at the club I believe we must take this opportunity to recognise a tremendous service to Frickley Athletic.

"We'll also be looking to raise some money for Cancer Research on the evening as well.

"If you are able to come along, fantastic. If you can't make it but would like to contribute to the collection for Cancer Research, fantastic. If you know of any ex players, colleagues or friends that might like to attend, feel free to pass details of the evening on to them."
