The EVO-STIK West Division leaders are unbeaten in the league this season, though went down 4-3 on penalties against Premier Division side Lancaster City in the Integro League Cup on Tuesday night.
Their attention now turns to the visit of National League North Curzon where a win would take them within two games of the first round proper.
Macken told RadcliffeTV: “It was a defeat but a defeat on penalties where anything can happen in them, but we’re still upset as we wanted to win the game.
“We’re always going to look for a reaction after a defeat, even though it’s on penalties, we always will. I expect to get it on Thursday in training.
“It’s a massive game Saturday and if they are not up for games like that they shouldn't be playing football.
“I’m sure they will be I have more than enough faith in them. They have been fantastic up to now, they have really worked hard.”
