More money raised for NPL's official charity partner

By James Gordon

There have been further fundraising efforts to support C-R-Y.

The Northern Premier League's official charity partner were nominated in the summer, in tribute to the late Shaw Lane player Daniel Wilkinson, who suffered a cardiac arrest during a game at Brighouse Town.

The Cardiac Risk in the Young charity also supports the Daniel Wilkinson Foundation, set up in his memory, with efforts made to increase heart screening, defibrillators and CPR/defibrillator training, primarily for grass-roots sporting teams.

A collection at a recent gathering of league partners and sponsors raised £262.15, while Ossett United have become the latest club to make a contribution.

Clubs are encouraged to raise money for C-R-Y throughout the season.

Donations from any fundraising activities carried out can be made quickly and easily via the C-R-Y website here, and clubs are requested to then advise the league of the contributions they have made to help monitor the ongoing success of the partnership.
