Ossett and Welsh part company

Andy Welsh has resigned as manager of Ossett United.

Welsh was the first manager of the merged club and led them to County Cup glory and the play-offs in his first season in charge.

A club statement said: “Winning the County cup and finishing in the playoffs in season one was an outstanding achievement and the club would like to say on record thank you to Andy Welsh and his team for their remarkable contribution to the clubs inaugural season.

“In addition the club would like to also recognise that during a very tough offseason where it may have been easier to walk away Andy and his team, remained at the club and prepared for a difficult job of restructuring the squad for season two. Ossett United would like to thank Andy Welsh for his time at the club and wish him all the very best in his future endeavours.”

Ossett are currently 18th in the BetVictor Northern Premier N/West Division, with one win and four draws from their 10 league games so far this season.

We are now looking for an experienced manager to help us achieve our longer term ambitions and welcome applicants. Anyone interested should contact Phil.smith@ossettutd.com
