Striker leaves Northwich for Frickley

Frickley Athletic have beaten a host of clubs to secure the signing of goal scorer Oliver Ryan. The 25 year old forward has been signed from fellow Evo-Stik Premier division club Northwich Victoria.

Ryan began his career at Lincoln City where he scored an incredible 119 goals in 125 reserve team appearances. He played 36 times for the first team before being snapped up by Boston United where he went on to become a real crowd favourite. He joined Harrogate Town for an undisclosed fee before last summer joining Northwich Victoria.

Frickley boss Peter Rinkcavage was delighted to get his man. He said, “We tried to sign Ollie on deadline day last season, but our offer was turned down by Northwich, so we are really pleased to have secured him now. He had a number of clubs in for him so we are really pleased he chose us. He has scored goals wherever he has been and I would class him as a natural finisher but he has much more to his game than just scoring goals. He is quick, has a good touch and is very neat and tidy. He is only 25 but he has lots of experience of playing at good levels for big clubs and I believe he will make a big impact here.”

Ryan joins new recruits Michael Simpkins, Alex Callery and Bradley Grayson as Rinkcavage continues to rebuild his squad ready for the new season which starts on August 13th.
