Sean Cooke extends Nantwich Town stay

Nantwich Town have announced that Sean Cooke has signed a new contract to keep him at the club until 2022, with the option of a further year.

Cooke began his career at Crewe Alexander, but after having trials at Blackburn and Wigan he moved to the Dabbers for the 2011/12 season.

He left for AFC Fylde in 2013, where he won the NPL Premier Division Player of the Year award and subsequently joined AFC Telford. Cooke returned back to Nantwich on loan in late February 2015, where he played a vital part in helping the club keep their NPL Premier Division status.

He joined FC United at the start of the 2015/16 season, but after being released, he returned to the Dabbers under former boss Phil Parkinson.

Manager Dave Cooke said: “Absolutely delighted to have Sean at the club for another year. He’s been with us a for a while and he’s always scored goals. He’s previously turned down better offers to stay with us so we’re really pleased to be able to repay his faith in by offering him another contract.”
