Mark Shaw has added another new face to his squad with the addition of 19 year old right back Jack Barnett who has been released by Sheffield Wednesday.
Previously described by the Owls’ Academy manager Sean McAuley as a player with “good ability” when signing a first year pro contract last season the youngster is also comfortable playing in midfield.
Sheffield FC coach Ian Whitehorne said of the new addition, “Jack had a number of options open to him after leaving Wednesday but we had a meeting at the ground, with him and his dad, and it didn't take him long to decide that his future was best served joining Sheffield FC.”
Jack joined the rest of the squad, including fellow newcomers Matt Varley, Charlie Weir and Shane Kelsey, in pre-season training earlier this week.
