Experienced duo make Trafford move

Trafford have signed midfield duo Scott Kay and Tom Eckersley.

The pair have signed on the dotted line and go straight into contention for Tuesday night's game against Nantwich Town in the Pitching In NPL West Division.

Kay began his career in the Manchester City youth system but failed to make an appearance for the club's first team. he lists Mossley, Macclesfield, Southport and FC United of Manchester amongst his previous clubs.

He will also bring versatility to a Trafford side looking to climb off the foot of the NPL West Division table, given his ability to operate as a full-back.

Eckersley has also featured for a range of clubs across the non-league pyramid, including at National North Level.

On his new recruits, recently-appointed Trafford manager Karl Marginson said: "Both Scott and Tom played for me at Conference North level so they’re both of good ability.

"They also bring along a wealth of experience as well as fantastic attitudes that will strengthen our squad immeasurably.

"I’m absolutely delighted to have them on board."
