FA Trophy second round draw

By James Gordon

The draw has been made for the second round of the FA Trophy.

There are nine Northern Premier League teams left in the competition, with at least two guaranteed progress.

That’s because Matlock will host Marske United and Warrington Town play Guiseley in two all-NPL Premier Division clashes.

Colne’s reward for their 5-0 thrashing of higher division Warrington Rylands is a trip to AFC Fylde, while last season’s NPL play-off winners Scarborough will travel to Marine.

Step four sides Leek Town and Runcorn Linnets face tough trips to National League North opponents Chorley and Spennymoor Town respectively.

Lancaster City will also play away against National League North side Chester.

Games will be played on Saturday November 19. Winners receive £3,750, and losers £1,000.

Chorley v Leek Town
Chester v Lancaster City
Spennymoor Town v Runcorn Linnets
Warrington Town v Guiseley
Marine v Scarborough Athletic
AFC Fylde v Colne
Matlock Town v Marske United
