Fans can become part of new home

EVO-STIK Northern Premier League Scarborough Athletic are inviting fans and local businesses and organisations to leave a permanent mark on the club's new stadium when it opens.

The Seadogs announced on Thursday that they were launching a 'Buy a Brick' scheme to give people a chance to become part of the very fabric of their new home at Weaponness.

The 2,000 capacity ground was given the green light by the First Division North club's local authority in May. Funded with the sale of the club's former home at Seamer Road, the community development will include a pool, sports hall and squash courts.

Seadogs officials, who've teamed up with builders Willmott Dixon to create a special tribute area inside the new stadium, are now taking orders for the personalised bricks in two sizes, a standard single brick for £35 or a £100 triple brick with more room for fans to engrave their name and any message for posterity.
