Hot-shot among quartet to commit

Hot-shot Liam Hardy and three other key players have already committed their futures to EVO-STIK League Buxton for the next campaign.

And joint Bucks bosses Paul Phillips and Steve Halford are looking forward to a host of others following in their footsteps as they prepare for their first full season in charge at The Tarmac Silverlands Stadium since succeeding Martin McIntosh in March.

As well as securing the services of top flight 'golden boot' winner Hardy, pictured, for the 2018-19 campaign on the last day of the season on Saturday, the duo also persuaded ex-Morecambe and Workington midfielder Joe McGee to extend his second spell as well as pacy winger Jude Oyibo following his arrival on dual registration forms from Glossop North End and Curzon Ashton.

Oyibo's former Hillmen teammate and Boston United and Shaw Lane midfielder Callum Chippendale completes the quartet. He kicked off the signing spree last week as the Derbyshire club's officials looked forward to installing a new pitch and floodlights this summer after receiving planning permission.

The much sought-after Hardy notched up 34 goals in the top flight last season to take his haul of Bucks goals to 100 and Phillips believes his decision to stay can only have a positive effect on their business in the transfer market.

Phillips said: "Liam's decision to stay with us shows that he recognises the ambition to progress of both the club and the managers. His signing will surely lay down a marker for players in the area that we mean business and intend to add more quality players to those we already have so that Liam can keep on scoring next season in our intended pursuit of honours."
