The EVO-STIK League Premier Division club's radio station Whitby Town Radio and Seasiders press officer Paul Connolly have both been nominated for Volunteer of the Year at the annual regional awards ceremony.
Taking place this year on Monday 26 February 26 at the Scarborough Spa, the awards are considered the highlights of the area’s sporting calendar with local athletes and volunteers set to be honoured in 20 different categories.
Yorkshire and England cricketer and former Whitby Town player Adam Lyth is set to hand out the accolades and a proud Connolly said: “It’s a honour to even be nominated, and in all honesty it was the last thing I expected. I'm just delighted that the efforts of our press team are being recognised.
"Everyone works tirelessly to make the club's output the best it can be and we’ll continue to do so to give our supporters the best content they can get."
He added: “Things like this certainly make the early Saturday mornings for a trip to the West Midlands that bit more worth it and make us all more determined to keep on improving our output.”
Whitby Town Radio are one of host of stations who've teamed up with the EVO-STIK League on matchdays during the competition's historic 50th anniversary season to cover the action in 2017-18 with their commentators following the Seasiders home and away.
