New boss Baker making real progress

By David Watters

New Leek Town manager Neil Baker is making real progress putting his squad together for the upcoming EVO-STIK Northern Premier League season.

Now in his third spell at the helm, Baker inherited defender Darren Chadwick and striker Tim Grice from former Blues boss Anthony Danylyk and has added goalkeeper Ben Chapman on contract terms as the backbone of his side for the 2017-18 campaign begins to take shape.

In a statement on Tuesday, officials at Harrison Park said the Blues boss, pictured, has also agreed terms with another defender and a midfielder with both expected to complete their paperwork later in the week.

Baker's new look squad return for pre-season training on Thursday 29 June. Like all clubs, the Blues will be able to sign non-contract players on EVO-STIK NPL forms from 1 July.
