Second half goals from Chris Lait and Justin Richards were enough to earn Stourbridge a 2-0 win against a Whitby Town side who are just three points above the drop zone.

Lait fired into the roof of the net on 62 minutes from Kristian Green's low ball into the penalty area, and Richards curled home an exquisite chip 10 minutes later after pouncing on an under-hit back pass.

Third-bottom Stamford play Darlington on Sunday, while fourth-bottom Hyde United went down to a 2-1 defeat at Silverlands to mid-table Buxton, whose Joel Bembo-Leta opened the scoring after 17 minutes.

Adam Jones gave the Tigers hope with a 53rd minute equaliser, but former Hyde player Spencer Harris won it for the Bucks nine minutes from time.

Mickleover Sports moved themselves to within a whisker of safety after a 1-1 draw at Stormy Corner against Skelmersdale United.

Andrew Dales gave the visitors the perfect start with a goal inside the opening minute. Chris Almond eventually levelled for Skem on 63 minutes but Sports held on to climb five points clear of Hyde and six of Stamford.

Elsewhere, Marine AFC are safe after beating bottom-markers Ramsbottom 3-0 at home with goals from Danny Mitchley from the penalty spot after 27 minutes, Liam Goulding on 62 minutes and a second Mitchley spot-kick five minutes later.

Colwyn Bay could relax after their fate was sealed in midweek and they also scored three without reply at home against Sutton Coldfield Town – Sean Sheridan after 15 minutes, Jordan Fagbola on 52 minutes and then Steve Wilson five minutes from time were the Bay scorers.

A safe Grantham Town were beaten 3-0 at The Grove by Halesowen Town, whose Tyree Clarke after nine minutes, Jay Denny a minute before the break and Aaron Griffiths 12 minutes from time were on the mark.

And mid-table sides Ilkeston FC and Rushall Olympic met at the New Manor Ground with the Robins running out 4-1 winners, courtesy of Dexter Atkinson after 14 minutes, Danny Gordon on 65 minutes, Roy Lee on 82 minutes and Tevahn Tyrell five minutes later, with Andre Brown netting an 88th minute consolation for the Pics.

And a 22nd minute John Cyrus effort saw Frickley Athletic move above visitors Barwell into seventh spot as they continued their top form.
