Widnes promote academy coach

By James Gordon

Widnes have promoted current academy coach Craig Davies to first team coach.

Davies has been appointed as first team coach by the club, with the hope to improve the link between the first team and the academy sides.

Joint-manager Kev Towey said: He said: "Craig is an excellent coach.

"His methods and experience will add massively to our backroom staff.

"It makes sense to have Craig heavily involved with the first team. His work with the academy this season has led to several of the lads being on the verge of first team involvement."
