Flying the flag north of the border!

Kendal Town's Tosh Farrell has been flying the flag for the EVO-STIK League in Scotland.

The head of youth development at the EVO-STIK League North club's ST&B Accountants Stadium, pictured, was recently invited to present a coaching clinic to the youth academy at Scottish Premiership Heart of Midlothian.

The session was well received by the former North West Counties Football League player's counterparts north of the border. Hearts academy manager Roger Arnott said: "The coaches were amazed at the level of detail relating to the game that Tosh was able to deliver across to the players in a very engaging, competitive and player-led environment."

The 59-year-old coach, who spent 13 years at Everton's youth academy as technical co-ordinator and then head of international football development, left the Toffees in 2010 to spend five and a half years in the United States setting up and running a successful youth programme.

Due to present another coaching clinic at Sheffield United's academy on 30 April, Farrell has been running the development center at Parkside Road to bring more local talent through to the first team for the last two years since returning to the UK and settling in Kendal.
