Frickley Athletic charity beard shave

Frickley Athletic chairman Stuart Highfield will shave off his beard on October 24 to raise money for Carlton Main Frickley Colliery Band.

The club said: "Stuart has allowed his usually beautifully manicured beard to develop somewhat during lockdown – so much so that it has now got its own postcode.

"He is itching (literally & metaphorically) to get rid of it and with that in mind Stuart will have his beard shaved off – before our home game against Market Drayton Town on Saturday 24th October – to raise funds for our neighbours, the world renowned Carlton Main Frickley Colliery Band.

"To give you some context, the last time Stuart was clean shaven was in 1973, when as a mere stripling of a lad he went to watch the FA Cup final between Leeds & Sunderland

"See below for more details & please give what you can – we are very lucky to have a world famous band in our community – so come on, let’s show them what they mean to us."
