The proud Northern League champions and 2017 FA Vase winners tweeted the image of defender Anthony Callaghan adorning the cover of the matchday magazine for their first home game against Brighouse Town at Mariners Park on Tuesday night using their official Twitter account @SouthShieldsFC.
The Mariners - 2-1 winners at Trafford on the opening day of the EVO-STIK League North season - are backing fan power to help them consolidate their place in the EVO-STIK League this season after more than 350 supporters collected their season tickets in the run-up to the 2017-18 campaign - already three times as many as this time last year.
Last term, the club enjoyed an average attendance of 1,275, gates adding up to nearly 40,000 supporters through the turnstiles across the campaign. Even the mighty Mariners might struggle to offer as good value to supporters this time around after collecting an incredible four trophies, most famously the FA Vase at Wembley in May with victory over fellow EVO-STIK League newboys Cleethorpes Town.
On tour: Mariners fans
Season tickets - priced at £140 for adults, £105 for concessions and £25 for U16s - are still on sale via the club's website along with seats for the supporters coaches to their Bank Holiday away game at Scarborough Athletic on Monday 28 August.
