West, 22, began his journey within the Owls’ development squad before featuring for Farsley Celtic and Frickley Athletic.
He impressed Trinity during an extended trial period and has now signed with the Pitching In NPL Premier Division outfit ahead of their season-opener away at Warrington Rylands on Saturday 13 August.
Having impressed for Sheffield Wednesday early in his career, West was rewarded with a two-year professional contract.
Upon the expiration of that deal, he joined Farsley Celtic following a similarly impressive trial period, only to see the season cut short due to Covid-19.
Before that time, though, West quickly made a dozen appearances in the National League North.
A move to Frickley Athletic then saw the versatile full-back make 28 appearances (all starts) for the club last season.
"I heard great things about the club and thought it’d be a great fit for me," he said following the move.
"I’m ready for the challenge ahead and I believe I’m very capable of delivering at this level. The squad this year looks very strong with some great, exciting signings.
"There is no reason why we shouldn’t be giving things a real good go this year."
