Giant-killers told to keep believing!

Warrington Town boss Paul Carden is calling on his EVO-STIK League side to keep the faith after they knocked out National League Ebbsfleet United to reach the last sixteen of the Buildbase FA Trophy.

Carden called Tuesday's stunning 2-0 replay win a perfect demonstration of what can happen when the EVO-STIK League Premier Division's Yellows "believe in themselves".

After being denied by an injury-time equaliser in Kent on Saturday, Tony Gray and Jamie McDonald finished the job to confirm the club's trip to Wealdstone in the last 16 and keep their Wembley dreams alive.

Carden, whose side join Workington in the next round after their replay win over Weston Super Mare on Tuesday night in Cumbria, told the Warrington Guardian on Wednesday that his players were "hungry" to get stuck into a side sitting 32 places above them in the football pyramid long before kick-off at Cantilever Park.

He said: "It’s a credit to them all, they all wanted it and they were all hungry for it. They’ve backed Saturday up perfectly. We totally deserved the win. They were fortunate to force a replay.

"Every single player showed what they are about and showed what they can do. I believe in them, they’ve just got to believe in themselves and each other. There’s no stopping what they can do if they do that."

Carden added: "We'd seen what they were about on Saturday and we knew there was nothing to be afraid of. Not only did we have more enthusiasm than them, we’ve actually been the better footballing team."
