After being short-listed on Monday, the Gingerbreads are hoping to follow in the footsteps of EVO-STIK League Corby Town but bank double the £10,000 Steelmen scooped at The Non-League Paper's 2017 National Games Awards as winners of the prize for Non-League's greatest goal celebration.
Aldershot Town, Brackley Town, Darlington, Leamington, Maidenhead, Needham Market, St Albans, Whitehawk and Worthing stand in the EVO-STIK League Premier Division club's way of collecting £20,000 in May after they were chosen as finalists by pundits and playing legends Mark Lawrenson and Perry Groves during a live broadcast on the competition's website and social media channels.
As well doubling the prize money on offer at May's awards at Chelsea's Stamford Bridge, Marathonbet are also sending their Premier League Legends XI to the home of the winners again for a lucrative pre-season match this summer. Premier League legends including the likes of Emile Heskey, Danny Gabbidon and Sol Campbell have competed in the past with the club keeping 90 per cent of the gate receipts and the remainder going to the Non-League Challenge's charity partners at Prostate Cancer UK.

EVO-STIK League South Corby Town boosted their coffers as only the second-ever winners of the competition thanks to Jason Lee’s cheeky swig of a beer from a fan after his side netted against Mickelover Sports, his celebratory gulp trumping more than 39 other entries from across the National League, National League North and National League South, Northern Premier League Premier, Southern League Premier and Isthmian League Premier.
